Crowdsourcing: the rise of the amateur

Ik verbaas me telkens weer over de mogelijkheden van het fenomeen Crowdsourcing. Wired schreef er al in augustus 2006 over.

Wat is crowdsourcing ook al weer? Wikipedia zegt: “Crowdsourcing is a neologism for the act of taking a job traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people, in the form of an open call. For example, the public may be invited to develop a new technology, carry out a design task, refine an algorithm or help analyze large amounts of data”. Chris Anderson van The Long Tail maakt het iets gemakkelijker: “where users happily do for free what companies would otherwise have to pay employees to do”. Continue reading
